About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Vacaville, Pure Grain Bakery is a delightful gem for anyone passionate about artisanal baked goods and hearty, rustic breads. This locally cherished bakery offers much more than just a quick bite – it’s a warm community hub where the aroma of freshly baked pastries lingers invitingly in the air and every visit feels like a small celebration of craftsmanship and flavor.

At Pure Grain Bakery, the standouts are unmistakable. Their jalapeño pretzels pack a perfect punch of spice and doughy goodness, skillfully balancing heat with the comforting chew of fresh pretzel bread. Equally irresistible are their cinnamon rolls, described by regulars as “phenomenal,” a golden swirl of sticky, gooey sweetness that melts into your senses. If you’re craving something flaky and buttery, their croissants won’t disappoint — each bite offering that coveted delicate crispness and rich, tender crumb.

Fans also rave about the hearty sandwiches, like the famous Summer Caprese, lauded as one of the best things some visitors have ever eaten. The bakery’s commitment to quality shines through in every sandwich, baked good, and even their breakfast dishes, though some advise a careful approach to the ham due to its salty edge. Paired with a beautifully crafted cappuccino that boasts a velvety crema, Pure Grain’s offerings become an even more irresistible treat.

What truly elevates Pure Grain Bakery beyond just the menu is its inviting atmosphere. This modest space, with limited seating, feels genuine and bustling, like a cozy meeting point where locals and visitors alike engage warmly. The small counter service encourages connection, and the staff’s friendliness earns top marks — making every customer feel welcomed and valued.

Value is another compelling reason to visit. Numerous customers highlight the bakery’s prices as a relative steal, especially when compared to pricier metropolitan areas like San Francisco. It’s a rare spot where quality and authenticity don’t come at an exorbitant cost.

True to its German working bakery roots, Pure Grain doesn’t merely serve food; it delivers an experience steeped in tradition, quality, and community spirit. Whether you’re stopping by for a morning pastry and coffee or gathering a group to indulge in their flavorful offerings, be prepared for a joyous and memorable culinary journey.

For those looking to enjoy a friendly atmosphere coupled with indulgent, handcrafted baked goods that tell a story in every bite, Pure Grain Bakery on Eubanks Court is an exceptional destination waiting to be explored.

Their cinnamon rolls were phenomenal. Second place is their almost twist. Third bring their croissants. Sandwiches are great and the breakfast dishes are pretty good but careful with the ham, it’s really salty. They’ve not cheap either, if you’re getting food for a group be prepared to spend some $$.

What a treat to have a fresh German working bakery with hearty rustic breads. They make stacked sandwiches also along with some of the best oatmeal cookies and whole peanut cookies I've had. It's a small counter business that serves customers coffee and pastries and breads with limited seating. Their hours are early for the breakfast and lunch crowd. I'd recommend Pure Grain for sure.

Best baked goods we've had since our trip to Italy. We ended up coming here three times in one week while visiting family. The cappuccinos are amazing, the pastries are delicious, and the Summer Caprese sandwich is one of the best things I've EVER eaten. We came for brunch on Sunday and it was a bit of a disaster. They ran out of eggs and french toast before noon. I'm not docking them because hopefully this was a one-time thing, but if you're going to serve all-day breakfast, why wouldn't you buy a million eggs in advance???

Picked up the lemon coffee cake for my dad and his wife. Made my day, the staff and customers were very helpful and friendly. The price, well, let me just say, compared to San Francisco prices and quality it was a steal. I had no problem coming back to try the peach coffee cake.

Great meeting place! We loved the community vibe and how engaged everyone was with each other. The breakfast dishes we ordered were the Denver and Veggie Omelette with their potatoes. We each had the marbled rye toast with it that comes with a dab of butter. If you do not ask they may automatically give you whole wheat. You order at the counter. They are very nice and helpful. We finished with the apple strudel. The overall experience was enjoyable. Pure Grain Bakery has a welcoming, homey feel when you are there ~ food included. Parking was easy and we will return!
